What makes Chicago and Hot Import Nights, such a great match? Both provide such a great variety of exciting things to do, that one may be left with the thought of not knowing what to do next. On a weekend that included events such as a No Doubt concert, a 400 mile Nascar race, and a Cubs / Cardinals doubleheader all in the city; the Hot Import Nights series brought some of the hottest cars and girls to one spot for a great day of excitement. Anyone coming into the city from the south couldn’t miss the show, as the unique location of the show gave those on Lake Shore Drive a birds-eye view of the show.
On this July 11, 2009 evening, the weather in the Windy City was perfect right off the lake at the Chicago Bears Soldier Field massive parking lot. This venue is no stranger to the crowds, as many Nightshift events have taken place there in the last decade. This year was of course, no letdown; as the show built on its experience while always providing new and exciting things to continue to attract the veterans to the shows, as well as peak the interest of newcomers.
The car scene in the Midwest may not get the attention that the East and West Coasts receive, but the events each year illustrate that it is deserving of more respect. Everything from Lamborghini and Porsches to old school Nissan Z’s and Hondas filled the area to capacity. The variety of the cars is definitely one of this shows strong points!
Import culture legends Helen Su, Jenny Chu, Jeri Lee, and Apple Somoza teamed up throughout the night Go-go dancing and giving away HIN swag on the main stage. When not on stage, they graced Model Central along with other tour models such as Pearl Nalani and the new Miss HIN Alanna Kolette. DJ Rocky Rock kept the tunes blasting all night, while the new large digital screen brought the action on stage to everyone in the crowd.
A new addition to the Hot Import Nights circuit is the upcoming Rivalry Nights (more information can be found on the HIN website). The RN tour models were busy signing event posters for the upcoming shows, and promoting the new series. HIN veteran Erin McKinnon (whose Maxim poster was prominently shown in the new Transformers movie!) headed up the girls promoting this new and exciting event series.
Industry publications such as Performance Audio & Sound Magazine and Pure Hot Models were in full effect with large tents full of girls signing photographs and promoting subscriptions. Corissa Furr and Alicia Whitten reprised their roles as the Naughty NOS Girls at the NOS booth, and many others were pouring samples of the new flavors of NOS drink for the multitude of fans.
